Christmas Decorations

We put up all of our Christmas decorations yesterday...and we are pooped! The best (and most annoying) part of the decorations was Kronk! He was interested in all of the boxes, especially the Christmas tree box. Let's just say that Kronk was in heaven yesterday.
Kronk now has a new favorite place to sleep--under the Christmas tree. After dinner tonight, Nathan went to go lay down near the Christmas tree. Shortly thereafter Kronk followed Nathan's example and went to go lay down under the tree too. It was a photo opportunity too good to pass up. Isn't it hilarious?

Thanksgiving is gone and it didn't take long

Thanksgiving was a GREAT day! We slept in (Nathan slept until 11:30 am), relaxed, and went out for a Thanksgiving dinner. Neither of us have ever been out to dinner on Thanksgiving because we are usually with family. We went to the Iowa River Power Restaurant...which was fabulous! Since Nathan is busy with his dissertation we don't get to spend much quality time together so it was a treat to go out to a nice restaurant with a pretty view of the Iowa River.

The food was so good and there was a plethora of it! (Sorry...the pictures are a little dark. The restaurant was dimly lit).

Check out this dessert table.
After dinner we came back and relaxed some more, talked with family on the phone, and then dived into this YUMMY apple pie that I made. Doesn't it look gorgeous?
It was a great day, but I wish we could have changed two things:

1. The weather! I took a snapshot of our weather forecast on Thanksgiving...BRRR!
2. I wish that we could have seen our families. It is always nice to be with your family during the holidays. But we live in Iowa...alas!

**Side note: The picture of the lady in the turkey outfit is the owner of the restaurant. Isn't that hilarious? She wore that all day.**

Tripods and Fall Photos

As I was going through our pictures, I noticed that Nathan and I are never in the same shots because one of us is always taking the picture. Solution to the problem--invest in a tripod. Back in August I purchased a tripod for our camera and it was one of the best $30 we have ever spent!
I have always wanted some pictures of us during the fall season--especially since we moved to Iowa where the colors are gorgeous. And now that we have a tripod...I was determined!

So one Saturday afternoon Nathan and I set up the tripod and clicked away.

Side note for this photo below: Nathan HATES this picture. Me...I love it! Look at all those leaves on the ground and trees. Thanks honey for humoring me. :)
