Tripods and Fall Photos

As I was going through our pictures, I noticed that Nathan and I are never in the same shots because one of us is always taking the picture. Solution to the problem--invest in a tripod. Back in August I purchased a tripod for our camera and it was one of the best $30 we have ever spent!

I have always wanted some pictures of us during the fall season--especially since we moved to Iowa where the colors are gorgeous. And now that we have a tripod...I was determined!

So one Saturday afternoon Nathan and I set up the tripod and clicked away.

Side note for this photo below: Nathan HATES this picture. Me...I love it! Look at all those leaves on the ground and trees. Thanks honey for humoring me. :)

Warm Fuzzies

Nathan and I have adopted the warm fuzzy idea from President Monson's talk in this last General Conference. Apparently Kronk has too, though for entirely different reasons. Anytime we shake or jiggle the warm fuzzy jar...Kronk comes a running! He LOVES these warm fuzzies...especially the smaller ones.

Well sometimes (like tonight) Kronk plays with such intensity that he looses the warm fuzzies in the nooks and crannies of our house. I walked into the kitchen and I noticed that Kronk was staring at the dishwasher. I figured that the warm fuzzy he was playing with was wedged between the dishwasher and the cabinet that encases it......and I was right.

Not only was his warm fuzzy stuck, there were FIVE other warm fuzzies wedged next to the dishwasher! Oh well...at least he's a happy kitty.

Halloween Dress Up

For work today our office decided to dress up 50s style. It was a nice change from wearing scrubs all day. Plus, the patients really get a kick out of it when we dress up...and so do we. :)

**A little side note: I do not know how girls wore these poodle skirts back in 50s. These skirts add 10 pounds to your hips and butt, which is not flattering in my opinion.

Happy Halloween!

There is a barn close to our place that the owners decorate for every Halloween. We've wanted to take a picture in front of it for a while, but it's on a busy street that's difficult to stop on. So today we FINALLY went to the effort and got a picture of us in front of the barn. It's creepier looking at night, but that would be a little more difficult for picture taking.

We've Been Robbed!!!!

But our shepherds hook was stolen. Yeah...weird!

At first we thought it was some drunken college students. But when we went to go look outside we noticed that whoever stole the hook was kind enough to leave the bird feeder and we figured that drunk students wouldn't do that.

So then we were wondering if it was some 70 year old woman down the street that stole it for her yard...but that just doesn't seem right.

I guess it could have been Little Bo Peep. Maybe she lost her hook and was in search for another.

*P.S. Yes that is snow in the picture! It's October 10th and we already got our first snow fall. Ugh!*

Results are in for Conference Hymns

Apparently I didn't do as well as I had planned. Perhaps I got to cocky in my last post. There were some hymns/musical arrangements that I was not planning on.

Things were going REALLY well in the Saturday morning session--the first 4 songs that were sung were on my list. I'm not sure what happened after that. Perhaps I should have touched base with President Monson and Mack Wilberg before I finalized my list. I'll make sure to do so next conference.

So how did I do?

11 out of the 30 songs that were sung in General Conference were on my list. That means I had a 36.6% accuracy. It's not my best, but the great thing is that General Conference is every 6 months and I get to do it again.

I love the music in General Conference. They songs and messages are so uplifting and inspiring. Thank you to all the choirs for singing (despite the fact that you deviated from my list).

Hymns for Conference

Alright everyone...my list is in.

Some of you may not know this, but every general conference I like to try and guess what Hymns are going to be sung. I've been doing this the past 4-5 years and I have to admit...I'm getting pretty good. My "rules" are:

*Pick about 30 songs (hymns or other musical arrangements).

*If those songs are sung during any part of conference (including Music and the Spoken Word) then you get to check them off your list.
